Thank you for your interest in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Riverside Senior Squadron 5, is one of California Wing’s finest senior only squadrons. We strive to lead by example in everything that we do. We take pride in our ability to mentor and teach both Senior Members and Cadets alike. We do this by utilizing our state of the art meeting facility which contains the latest in internet and audio/visual equipment. We utilize our facility to host many types of training events such as Mission Scanner School, Mission Pilot School, Mountain Flying Clinics, Mission Workflow and Garmin G1000 training to name a few.
Our members contribute to all three missions of Civil Air Patrol; Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, and Cadet Programs. We also host and participate in Training Exercises for both Search and Rescue and Disaster Relief. We can also be tasked with the transporting of County, State and Federal personnel if required for a mission.
In March of 2013, our squadron was honored by being assigned a brand new Turbo Cessna T206H equipped with a Garmin G1000. This aircraft affords our squadron many benefits such as larger payloads which allow us to provide additional training to more of our membership at once.
You are invited to come to a meeting and see for yourself if Civil Air Patrol is a good match for you. Attending a meeting will also give you a chance to see what we do and to meet our members. Civil Air Patrol membership will require your time and energy. It gives each of us the opportunity to serve our community and out Nation. Please understand Civil Air Patrol is what you, the members, make it and our hope is that you will make it a fulfilling and rewarding experience.
In closing, please visit the rest of our website and check out the New Member section to learn more about Civil Air Patrol. We also hope you stop by our calendar page and pick a meeting night to come introduce yourself. I hope to see you at a future meeting where you can meet the squadron membership.
